I'm 5'5. If you are taller than me, and your desk height is 29", consider a 4" tall cushion instead of this 6" tall item.*Durability/Function: I've now rested my feet/shoes/socks on it for approx. 8 hours a day for the last month. At this point, there is no sign of wear & tear, and none of the little rubber texture bumps have come off. The rubber bumps provide satisfactory traction on carpet - it is easy to grip the cushion between my feet and slide it into various positions, but then when I rest my feet on it, it stays put like it should. I have not tried it on a smooth floor, but I suspect it won't perform as well there.*Feel: The foam is very firm, but hot hard.
