I use this as “supplemental lighting“, sticking it to the ceiling of the aircraft with some double-sided tape (3M very high bond). This is fantastic. It provides a wonderful wash/flood of red light, that illuminates the entire cockpit. You can adjust the lighting to add just enough light, but not too much. I’m not sure how many hours one can get out of each charge, but it’s been more than enough for at least five or six hours of flying time.I know this product wasn’t made for this purpose, but it definitely saves my night vision and is excellent and inexpensive upgrade. Also, I can still put it on the back of my bicycle!I should note that the first item that was shipped to me failed. It was poorly packaged, appeared as if it had been returned and it didn’t work. However, I returned it for a replacement, which I received within a few days and it has worked perfectly. Excellent service! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not big enough *by M***I on Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2020* This is a review of Ultra Brite rechargeable red bike light.Re: function: the multiple functions advertised ( steady on low/hi, flashing slow/fast) worked the first time i tried it and have not worked since. I dont care b/c the slow flashing is all i want. On(slow flashing)/Off still works. Occasionally steady ON will work.Re: brightness: the BRIGHT setting is what you need for daylight, the low setting is OK for night. The photo with the light on is low brightness - could not get BRIGHT to work for photo.Re: mounting bracket - the only practical place it can be installed is the seat post frame member. See the photos - when you hit a bump, the light angles down. There is a screw on the bracket that can be tightened to reduce this. I have not been able to eliminate it, so i reach down and check the light position after i hit a big bump. Since i try to avoid bumps most of the time it is not a problem. I wish there was a way to mount this on the back of my luggage rack - it would be much more visible and useful.Re: recharging - it recharges in about an hour and the charge lasts maximum 3 hours flashing slowlyOverall - drivers passing from behind give me more room when this is on so I'm satisfied. I would be HAPPY if it was twice as wide and mounted on my luggage rack. ### ⭐ There are better choices *by Y***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2019* I have two objections.1. The 'tab' on the back of the light's housing is too large for the 'socket' on the mounting strap. The socket apparently the same size as provided by a good number of competitors' lights. The 'tab' is slightly too big in every dimension. This is a deal-breaker for me as I like to leave the mounting strap in place and unclips the light to bring it in to be recharged. If you just insert the tab into the socket without lubricating the tab, you are unlikely to be able to separate the light from its socket. I have been sanding the 'tab ' down to fit: a very crude solution to a miss-fit.2. The run times are too brief for day-long bike rides. My daily rides range from 25 to 50 miles per day. With breaks for lunch, watching boats, smelling roses, and so on, the elapsed time can range up to 7+ hours, yet I leave my lights on, even during long breaks, to give potential thieves the impression that the owner must be planning to return shortly.I have a number of lights from ASCHER that I can leave on all day long.Editorial: Even here on the idyllic vacation island of Martha's Vineyard, with its many bike paths, if you're either regularly endangered by unskilled or inconsiderate bike riders, youths riding massive motorcycle sized E-bikes, and by cars.On the bike paths, the biggest danger comes from youngsters wobbling from side to side, and often on their phones, holding the handlebars with just one hand.
