For example, he strongly recommends natural daylight to artificial light. With LED light sources that can have a daylight setting, natural light is not a requirement. Having the light source to the scribe's right, though, is quite valuable, as you're not creating your own shadows as you work. There is a good assortment of "starter" (or, fundamental) alphabets, as well as both hand and pen exercises. There aren't any great answers to how to become a great calligraphy writer, but the book did have practical information you can use.
