A: Hold the big one in 1 hand insert the small one with your other hand and twist the small one in one direction until it is the length you need.

**Q: How do I make it smaller to 28inch size?**
A: Turn one end while holding opposite end till it is smaller. If your opening your going to hang it is even slightly smaller than 28” you may need to buy a shorter size
