I want to use it as a kill switch on a small outboard motor.** A: no. **Q: looking for a switch like the above # 42200 for AC 120 volts with a long neck at least 3/4" to go through furniture** A: I will use it to switch 120 V AC. (assuming my question about size is corrected). The problem with switching DC is, as the switch is opened it wants to create an arc. If switching DC the switch contacts have to open far enough to break the arc. With AC, within 1/60 of a second the voltage will go through 0 volts and stop any arc. This is from an electrical engineer that has worked with gigantic switches that use blasts of air or magnetic fields to break arcs. **Q: how many amps** A: Not sure, probably 10 Amps. However it was not used in indoor conditions and failed shortly after install! **Q: what is the amperage rating of this switch???** A: The manufacture rated it at 15 amps.
