I bought this heater after reading the reviews saying how it could be used in a tent and that it was small. I am not sure if the product is designed to not be able to turn off once started or if my unit was defective. Regardless, my unit could not turn off once I noticed the flames were getting high. I struggled with knob for a few seconds until the flames lept to the screen of my tent. Then I struggled to open the inner screen and the outside door of the tent to throw the incredibly hot heater outside. I was very fortunate to escape with singed hair, burned fingers, burned tent, and burned sleeping bag. From the time I ignited the heater until the time I threw it out of the tent was less than 3 minutes probably but it felt like a lifetime.
