Traditionally the embroidery work began at the birth of a daughter and continued, with the help of family and friends, until the bride's dowry was complete. The patterns of Suzani are an expression of women's mood and fantasy. Suzanis are the last exponents of an age-old tradition which draw our attention by their mystery and beauty. The present item is the silk embroidery Suzani from Nurata, Uzbekistan. The foundation of embroidery is natural cotton of the saturated black color. The varied bloody pomegranates, emerald green scrolled leafs and small birds hiding in winded stalks on contrasted dark foundation make this Suzani very special. This embroidery looks really stunning! Both the design and draughtsmanship of this embroidery are great. This impressive pattern symbolizes fertility and well-being. It is a great decoration for your interior!!! Stitch: chain stitch. Size: 116 x 97 in/294,5 x 246 cm. Condition: excellent. Lined with natural cotton.
