I was sold at the maternity store when the sales lady told me about the success two of her coworkers had with this product as I was about to purchase a similarly priced well-known product. The smell is light and pleasant (important for me as even the "unscented" products were amplifying my nausea) and the feeling of the cold velvety cream on my warm, tight, itchy belly is HEAVEN! I can't say whether or not it has prevented stretch marks for several reasons. 1) I have ready this is essentially genetic anyway so it is unlikely any cream is going to "prevent" them if you have them in your ancestry 2) I can't see any signs of them at this point, but I am still 9 months pregnant and have read you can't see them sometimes until after birth when your belly shrinks back down and 3) even if I get some stretch marks, how can I know if they helped prevent what I would have gotten without the cream?? It does make me feel better that I am doing SOMETHING to try to prevent stretch marks, and according to the girl at the maternity store, they two people she personally saw this work for started using the cream AFTER birth and she swears they had really bad stretch marks prior to use and that you couldn't even see them after.
