I haven't had muesli for many years, but I have a tendency toward food that is less sweet, including breakfast cereals, so this seemed like it would be right up my alley. I'm the kid who liked Shredded Wheat, Corn Flakes and plain Cheerios while the others had Frosted Flakes and Lucky Charms, so take my opinion with that in mind. The ingredients are fresh and the texture is exactly what I expected -- note that this is raw and not cooked like most granolas. The Bircher variety has a nice flavor of cinnamon. I can't pick out the apple flavor, but I enjoy it regardless. I like mine mixed with a cup of thick yogurt, or soaked overnight in milk and then warmed up. Although it says "unsweetened," it does contain dates and sorghum flakes. I know dates are pretty sweet and sorghum must have a high level of natural sweetness to it since they make syrup out of it. But, there is no high fructose anything, cane sugar, or honey. Review: I found this in a health-food section of a grocery store in Lewiston, ID, and loved it! Very simple, "clean ingredients"--meaning natural and no added sugar or preservatives. My mum use to make muesli when I was growing up and she use yo put some milk powder in to make it more creamy, it made a big difference! I wish seven sundays did that.
