I'm terrible at putting the kettle on to boil, then wandering off and forgetting about it and coming back and having to boil it all over again. With this kettle, it's still boiling hot, so I probably halve the electricity I use on kettle boiling! The only slight negative is that 1.7l isn't that many mugs of tea.
