My favorite is the batuuan wrap - I got to try spices that I never used before and I guess the experience has been educational. I also have my 15-year-old cousin cook from it. The steps are easy enough he can do most of them (with guidance) and he’s learning common cooking terms and techniques. I think it also helps him practice focusing and learning about measuring things like carrots and shredded cabbage. He still is padawan. He interpreted shredded cabbage as one leaf of cabbage and tear it a few times - the cole slaw ended up looking like some fancy gourmet chef’s $300 appetizer. The recipes I think are simplified so a family can make it and sometimes you have to be creative to make what you make look like the picture (I would invest in squeeze bottles). So sometimes cooking experience helps. But what you make is edible and tastes good. What I don’t like is that there isn’t a TABLE OF CONTENTS. And the index is not alphabetical. The Index is by type of food and specific location. The recipe book is organized by theme park. Other than that major pitfall, I really like this book! I actually bought a second copy for my cousin. And my other cousin bought her own copy too. I even used the batuuan wrap (Bah-too-oo-ahn) wrap for my birthday bbq party. We used beef strips instead of pork butt and naan instead of pita. I normally hate coleslaw but this one is pretty good. And I personally would add more Sichuan peppercorn and sumac. Review: Disney recipes from my visit! - Being from Michigan, there's not many times I can have myself a Disney meal straight from the parks, but this book has everything I want to make! The book is the official Disney cookbook with real recipes that the chefs at the Disney parks use. It has some of their main stand out recipes like the Micky Mouse Beignets, holiday ham slider, desserts, even drinks like white hot chocolate and juice. The book even has some extra info like the locations of where the restaurants are (which can be found in the back of the book), real pictures of the foods, and even bonus pictures of the parks which makes me want to visit even more. The overall quality of the book is very good. I got the hardcover version and it's stiff at first but once you start flipping through the pages it loosens up. Just flipping through this book makes me want to visit Disneyworld again, but actually making some of the meals (I've made the ham slider and some of the drinks so far), it makes me feel like I'm back there.
