## Questions & Answers

**Q: It this radio made in China?**
A: This radio is made in China. For some days worked well, then FM went silence. Didn’t bother with it. Looks good. For me is not worth it.

**Q: Hi sorry i forgot to mention that it comes with a usb cord but do i need an adapter as it comes from usa the voltage is different from usa to uk**
A: They should send the proper adapter for the country that they're shipping the radio to. Regardless, I will bet that the adapter can handle 100 to 240 volts, and 50 hz or 60 hz doesn't matter. Check the small printing stamped on the side of the adapter to confirm the wide-input acceptance. If I'm right and the adapter can handle almost any input voltage / frequency, then all you need is a plug-adapter that contains no electronics, but only adapts the American plug to the UK plug.

An adapter that converts voltage would cost over $50. An adapter that contains no electronics and doesn't convert voltage, but simply and only allows you to plug in your device overseas, would cost $5 or less.

**Q: Is this the same radio as the Retekess TR110?**
A: It sure looks like it. This little Raddy/Retekess is a great little radio. The telescoping antenna is tiny though. And by tiny, I mean very thin. You have to be very "dainty" with it.

**Q: Have they fixed the ssb issue? not receiving ssb well or possibly not all others have mentioned, but i have not seen it mentione recently.**
A: I really don't know. I haven't been able to get any SSB transmissions on it. Then again, I don't think there's anyone near me who transmits on SSB.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very useful little radio for emergencies
*by on Reviewed in the United States November 3, 2025*

This is a great option for a small, portable, backup shortwave radio. You can cycle through many parts of the spectrum and is highly flexible. The quality is medium range and the sound quality is acceptable for what it is. It is quite small and light and comes with a little bag with a drawstring for storage. I have a portable SDR as my main receiver and I got this to first tinker with and learn some about radio. I used it to listen to CB, shortwave, AM, and weather successfully. My only complaint is the location of the power button which is easy to turn the device on while it is in it's storage bag by accident.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Extreme wide band coverage including SSB - The whole Shebang for $60
*by on Reviewed in the United States November 8, 2024*

Raddy RF760I am giving this radio 5 stars based on this:_Extreme frequency range including SSB (Single Side Band) for Amateur Radio._VHF/UHF for GMRS, FRS, Amateur Radio & public service (police, fire, etc)_User Definable Band - any lower/upper in 30Mhz - 520Mhz range_External antenna jack_External earphone jack for FM stereo._Built-in battery (replaceable) and USB-C charging._Ability to continuously display signal strength and signal/noise ratio_Very readable amber backlit display._Plenty of memories - 100 per band_Ergonomics. This radio is so small that it fits in the palm of your hand and you can operate almost all the controls with your thumb. For about $60 you can get a small portable radio that can “do it all”This radio will not replace a radio dedicated to a specific radio service but at this price point it’s “good enough” in a pinch. With variable bandwidths, fine tuning and ability to do LSB/USB it can pick up amateur radio on the SW bands (search “Amateur Radio Band Plan” to find out where and “Amateur Radio HF Nets” for schedules and frequencies)Of course it does well on the traditional broadcast bands on MW and FMVHF/UHF can get you GMRS, FRS, Amateur Radio, and Public Service (police, fire, etc) with 100 memories. Check out radioreference dot com for frequencies)One additional feature is the ability to create a user defined band (for auto scan and store) in the range 30Mhz-520Mhz. So, if you just want to listen to the amateur radio 2 meter band you can custom define this band with the limits of 144Mhz-148Mhz.Bottom line, for about $60 you get the whole shebang that is “good enough” at this price point.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, With Caveats
*by on Reviewed in the United States February 16, 2024*

UPDATE:I purchased another one of these from a different vendor. The price has dropped to nearly half of the original cost. I discovered that there at least 4 different versions of this radio, manufacturered by one company HanRongDa, and branded by Raddy, Retekess, and HRD. The newest version contains a MOSFET preamplifier between the antenna and mixer. The newest version works quite well as long as you don't attach a long outdoor antenna. The sensitivity is quite good, but this set can be overloaded due to poor dynamic range. That said, it is a technological marvel with no less than 2 Receiver chips and a DSP chip. I discovered that using the headphones it improves reception. I love the little set, but I don't recommend it if it's going to be your only radio for listening to shortwave.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This little receiver is pretty cool, but has its drawbacks. The sensitivity below about 5 mHz is pretty poor. The Menus are difficult to see and hard to navigate. It's much more sensitive on the Upper Shortwave Bands, CB Band, and on the VHF/UHF Bands. Where I can clearly receive CHU on 3.30 mHz on my Tecsun PL-330, using the built-in Whip Antennas, they're not audible on the Raddy. The Scanning Features on the Raddy work quite well. But programming the frequencies into memory is not straightforward. The one big plus is the wide range of coverage in such a small package. Oh, and as other Reviewers have noted, the end of the built-in Whip Antenna is hair thin and easily breakable. I'm 71 and have been a Radio Enthusiast since grade school. I've owned literally hundreds of radio receivers in my life. I wound up returning the Raddy and purchased a Vintage Hammarlund HQ-180A to restore. That's a laugh because the Raddy weighs onces and the Hammarlund weighs 60 pounds! 73, KG7M
