## Description

Product description FAQ'S WHICH PRODUCT IS RECOMMENDED TO PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN A COAT OF 845? Collinite No. 520 Mister Collins Auto Detailer gently cleans the surface while enhancing the existing wax finish . It is also infused or “insulated” with Collinite Wax protection in order to bond effectively to the wax coat. Collinite 845 can also be layered over itself if additional protection and shine are desired. CAN 845 INSULATOR WAX BE APPLIED OVER EXISTING CERAMIC COATINGS AND PAINT PROTECTION FILM (PPF)? Ceramic Coatings : Many professional detailers are successfully using 845 Insulator Wax as a topper for ceramic coatings. Check with the coating manufacturer whether a carnauba-polymer wax is suitable over the coating. Paint Protection Film (PPF) : 845 Insulator Wax was tested successfully by the tech department at XPEL PPF . CAN 845 BE USED EFFECTIVELY IN ITS THINNER LIQUID FORM AND ITS THICKER GEL FORM? 845 will take on a thicker gel consistency in colder temperatures and a thinner liquid consistency in warmer temperatures. The different viscosities do not alter the performance. It can be used in either form. CAN 845 BE USED BY HAND AND WITH A DA POLISHER? Yes. Collinite 845 Insulator Wax is Collinite’s most “machine friendly” automotive wax. A finishing pad and low speed are optimal in order to obtain professional results . By hand, a thin layer is recommended to one section at a time. With DA and by hand, microfiber towels are recommended for removal. For one midsized vehicle, 2-3 towels are suggested. CAN 845 INSULATOR WAX BE LAYERED? Yes. Wait a minimum of 12 hours between coats to allow the product to fully cure.

Review: My favorite car wax - I think Collinite 845 is the best car wax out there. I certainly have not tried them all but I am done looking. The depth of shine and long term protection it provides is awesome. I live in Nebraska. One wax in the spring and a second waxing before winter and my cars are good. Look great and bead water until the next waxing. Application is easy and removal is also easy as long as you don’t let it sit too long on the paint.
Review: This wax does wonders! - While it might not be the most expensive (nor the cheapest) wax money can buy, it possesses a HUGE bang for the buck. At room temperature, it is kind of like a soft paste - not a liquid, not quite a paste. It obviously changes consistency with temperature. Making sure it is shaken up well is important, as there are more than one chemical at work here. In order to do this, you need to run the bottle under warm/hot water for a little while, to turn the paste into a liquid, and then shake it to get that smooth, thick, liquid consistency we're looking for. Once you get to that point, use it sparingly - I recommend dedicating this wax to a single applicator. I prefer the microfiber applicators from Chemical Guys over the foam applicators you can purchase. This stuff lasts a long time, so if it can lasts months on your car in the elements in a micro thin film, think about how long it's going to last on your applicator pad! It has a pleasant chemical waxxy-like smell. No frills here, it smells exactly like what it is. Hardcore wax. Whatever it is you're waxing, be sure to use a clay bar to ensure a proper, smooth, decontaminated surface. This stuff wipes on super, super smooth, almost like spreading vaseline. It's wonderful to work with, and spreads easily. This means that less is more - I figure since I did a full size car, including wheels, and glass, and yet the bottle looks as if it hasn't even been opened yet, this stuff will last at least 50 full size rigs before you need to worry about purchasing more. And that, is something I like! The nice thing about this is that it isn't one of these off-the-shelf products you can find at . If they did, it'd all fly off the shelves and it would be MONTHS before people came back for more. It lasts a long time on the vehicle, so long as the paint is in good shape before you apply it. The cleaner, smoother the paint - the better, longer lasting the shine will be. People rave about this everywhere you go, automotive wise. It's especially popular in fall and winter, because it compliments the rainy season well. It beads water like there's no tomorrow just by itself. And since it isn't one of those products that last about a week until the next wash, it'll keep protecting your paint through the entire season. Spring time will be pretty much pure awesomesauce when you go to give your car that detail you look forward to, and your time is cut in half during the wash process because it'll probably still be working great. Do yourself a favor and learn how to properly wax your car. If you're a nut that just loads the wax on until your car looks like the lady friend coming out of the day spa waring a mud mask? You need a little help. Wax should go on super thin. Using more product than is necessary is simply a waste of product. You should only see a thin, light haze once the product starts to dry. Use little to no pressure when applying, just enough to spread it out over the paint. Work in circles to ensure a good, even coat. Give it 15-20 minutes for the product to 'soak in' and bond with the paint, and dry - it's easier to remove this way, and yields the best result. Some people like to call it quits after you remove the wax, but to really give your paint that 'pop' most people look for (especially pearls & metallic paints), use either a quick detail spray such as Chemical Guys P40 or V07 as a follow up after removing your wax. This not only gives a bit more shine, it also adds another layer of protection that will lengthen the life span of your finish. I would recommend Collinite to anybody looking for a durable, high endurance wax that is easy to apply and practically fool-proof. It is maybe a 7/10 in the 'shine' department, so if you're looking for a top of the line shine, expect to pay top of the line money. But by all means put it over the 845 so when the super spendy stuff wears off, you still have the long lasting protection from Collinite. 5 out of 5 stars because it's awesome, and everybody loves it - especially myself, since I'm the one that actually uses it. No instruction manual or Master's degree required. Enjoy!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is it good on a white car? good on paint without clear coat?**
A: the color of the car doesn’t matter, but I have heard this does an exceptionally nice job on white paint compared to other comparable brands. As far as no clear coat, it SHOULD be fine, but nothing will do as well as repairing it. Maybe a silicone based sealer wax, bur I can’t remember if it bonds to paint, clear coat, or both.

**Q: Is is safe to use on the clear plastic headlights on my Accord?**
A: I keep my headlights waxed from new with collonite. Keeping this wax on them protects them just like paint from UV rays. My headlights are 7 years old now (2012 G37 which are bad about yellowing) and they look brand new. It’s actually a great protector for headlights. My car is NOT garage kept.

**Q: Can i first apply/use collinite wax 845 on car then second followed by paint sealant?**
A: You always do a sealant before a wax or else it doesn't work right and negates the usage of the sealant

**Q: Do you suggest using this to help buff out extra fine scratches?**
A: Have not tried to use it in that way. I would suggest headlight restore cream for fine scratches thought .

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great shine
*by M***3 on April 10, 2026*

I believe this to be the best wax out there. I’ve been using this now for about eight years. It lasts through just about everything here in Northeast Ohio, I only have to use that one time and that’s usually in May or June. Through the rest of the year it beads up amazingly when there is rain, I could take it through car washes during the winter months and it is still lasting. It’s the only thing that I will truly use on any of my cars. It goes on very easily and comes off without leaving any type of haze on your paint. I do know that after no use for awhile it gets a little clumpy on the inside, the remedy is just to soak the bottle in hot water. Let it stay in there a couple minutes. It does loosen up the wax and shake the bottle and it’s good to go.
