Review: Replacement for Shower Door Hinges - These hinges were purchased to replace two existing hinges on my shower door. As shown in the picture, the bottom hinge had been improperly installed with a massive amount of silicone caulk to hold the glass in place. That resulted a worn out hinge making a loud poping sound as the door is opened and closed. Good thing (not mentioned in the listing) is each of these hinges comes with 3 gaskets (1.5 mm thick each) and with a 8 mm thick glass, the gaskets are sufficient to fill the hinge openning of about 12 mm. I am happy that the hinges are exact duplicates and the door works perfectly after replacement. Just to point it out, it is possible to do an in-place install without door removal if you have 2 people to do it. 1. Loosen the wall mount screws slightly so they can be easily taken out later. 2. Let one person inside, use wood shims to shim the door against the bottom and the side wall to fix it in place. 3. Remove the wall mount screws and the hinge screws. 4. The peron outside can then take the old hinge out and hold the new one in place. 5. New mount screws are installed. 6. Assemble the new hinge plate with the 3 supplied gaskets. 7. Take the door shims out. Note that in step 6, before putting on the plate, it may be helpful to use small pieces of nylon strips to fill any slacks between the glass and the hinge screws. Yes, it is a great purchase and a tremendous value.

These hinges were purchased to replace two existing hinges on my shower door. As shown in the picture, the bottom hinge had been improperly installed with a massive amount of silicone caulk to hold the glass in place.
