We only need the foam for a week.** A: I only used mine to insulate the lid of an outside storage unit made of plastic. However, the foam stuck to it extremely well and I doubt that it will come off easily so, to answer your question, I would think it quite likely that there could be damage to your paint if you tried to remove this from a painted surface. The other option would be to stick the foam to a piece of plywood or similar and prop that against your wall or suspend it on cords (if feasible) but this is now growing arms and legs.
