I bought this because I wanted something simple. The glass jar is thin and light, Im surprised it hasn't cracked while pouring in the hot water when its sitting on the counter. The metal filter up top is pretty cool. I put in a regular paper coffee filter, had to fold it into a cone to sit in there without spillage, dump in my coffee, then pour in the hot water.What I really like is no matter what coffee I used, it always tasted smoother than when I used a coffee machine. Its super easy to clean, I rinse out the jar, run hot tap water through the metal filter, done. It did come with a "cleaning" packet or something? I don't know what this is or if its even necessary. I just wash everything with dish soap and before I use it the first time, I run boiling water through it a couple times before drinking from it. So far, I didn't die or get sick or anything.So far almost 2 weeks of using this, I really like this. The strainer is fantastic! It has never clogged up or slowed down the pour over process (I don't normally use ground coffee, I grind mine to a coarse ground so it's not as fine) nor do I get any coffee remnants due to it's duo mesh system (Even when I tried ground coffee). I prefer metal strainers rather than paper coffee filers because the paper will absorb the natural oils the coffee has. I personally taste a little difference, but just some of my insight.The neck of the pot is not wide enough for you to fit your hand into no matter how small they are (Unless you're a very young child). I just use a bottle cleaner to wipe the inside. The filter is easy to clean, and there are several layers of mesh that make it sturdy and effective. The glass part is still going strong, and the handle insulates well, but hot water is hot water, so I still don't grab it right after I've poured hot water in.
