(end edit) I bought this as a power supply for a COB lighting system I built with other BTF components for a homemade lighting system for an indoor plant nursery. It is well-specified for this use and actually worked great for about two months. It was on about 18 hours per day connected to simple timer on the AC supply side. Unfortunately, it then broke, although not completely. I found the LED strips putting out very dim light as if there was barely any current available. I measured with a multimeter and found it still producing 24VDC . However, it would no longer actually drive the LED strips. As soon as I replaced it with a different power supply, the LED strips began working again with normal brightness. So, this power supply definitely failed, at least partially and is essentially just e-waste now. This is not a high end device by any means but it was not being taxed and should have lasted much longer than it did. Unfortunately, I bought the lighting components including this piece long before I had time to build the project, so by the time the failure occurred I was well past the return window. I'm probably just unlucky and got a bad one but I still can't recommend this part. Review: Just works - Does what it should. Doesn't get hot. Delivers a full 5 amp load as well.
