I'm not sure if the larger foot is better when walking, it's plastic not rubber. It stands although it will still fall over, I'm guessing it will be more unbalanced in time as the foot gets worn out. The height is extendable and its easy to fold with a velcro strap. The torch is bright but when I was walking with the below light on, it kept turning off, not as a timer but with the bump against the ground. Takes 2 AA batteries.
