It goes on smoothly and is a thin but white formula. So it shows up and blocks sun but it isn't so thick that it is annoying. Our family spends a lot of time at the beach and outside in the sun. Sun protection is something we take very seriously. I always require SPF 50 and I like a solid block that has Zinc Oxide. So that limits my choices b/c it has to have 50 plus the ZO. I love that this is hypoallegenic (b/c some of them can contain toxic materials that are highly allergic especially for children). My favorite feature is that it is PABA, phthalates, fragrances, parabens, dyes, alcohol and oxybenzone.
