## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐ Overall a good value, with some issues...

*by M***. on March 11, 2018*

I actually bought this because the PTFE liner in my stock hotend throat finally clogged, and I needed a replacement throat. So, I used one of these throats in my old hotend, and the rest are spare parts (always need spares in the 3D printing world!).The throats worked great, nice threading and no leaks. The hotend itself seems to be pretty good quality. I like that they have a brass insert holding the thermistor in place.Nozzles selection is nice, mine came with one 0.2, one 0.3, several 0.4, and one 0.5. Again, I haven't tried any of them yet, so I can't comment on whether they work or not, but they seem to be reasonable quality. They are in a labeled bags, but per a previous reviewer, the nozzles themselves don't appear to be marked... so as long as you keep them in the bags, you're fine.UPDATE: I didn't tighten up the connection between the throat and the nozzle on my stock heater block properly (Alunar M508). Was printing PETG, and ended up with a mess of PETG in the threads and all over the top of my old heater block. Unable to get the throat out easily, I ended up installing the hotend. An issue presented itself right away. The brass insert they crimp onto the thermistor was done a bit too aggressively, as it was shorting out the thermistor (panel was showing the hotend at 358C). With some careful use of pliers, I was able to "uncrimp" it enough to resolve the issue... luckily the thermistor glass bead was undamaged.I am also using the nozzle that came with this. I ensured that the connection between the nozzle and the throat was good and tight this time. I'm printing now and it seems to be working just fine.

### ⭐⭐ The sting of low quality remains long after the thrill of low price has faded away.

*by F***E on August 2, 2018*

well...ya gotta admit the price is great. And the extras....extra tubes, extra nozzles....it's all good, right? That's what I thought. Due to thumb-fingered clumsiness I managed to pull the thermistor wires out of my head, so I ordered this as a replacement head. But once I installed it, I noticed that it had trouble coming up to temp for ABS printing. Set the temp at 240 and wait....and wait...and wait....while the readout says 210; 209;210.3; 209; 210.5; 209.1....you get the idea. Extremely frustrating to say the least. Ah but the nozzles and tubes! First nozzle I installed plugged after one print. Changed it out and then there appeared a huge molten PLA leak which ruined my next print; took the head apart, filament tube broken across the threads. Installed new tube and another nozzle; got two prints out of it before it clogged. I'm now on nozzle 3 and at this rate I'll be sidelined soon. Before I started trying to use this kit stuff my printer worked great, came up to temp fast, never clogged, never leaked, I sure wish I had not pulled out those thermistor wires. I'm gonna get a factory OEM replacement part, and throw this stuff into the dustbin.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great! Modified my Monoprice Maker Selece V2 / Wanhao Duplicator i3 for the perfect fit!

*by J***Y on January 26, 2019*

I purchased this knowing it would probably not correctly fit the original extruder bar mount. At the same time I purchased one that would. My intention was either returning this or modifying the printer. i ended up performing the modification. With the right tools it isn't a big deal.In the photos attached you will the the original bar mount that comes with the Monoprice Maker Selece V2 / Wanhao Duplicator i3. The large hole is the hole for the MK10 hotend that is stock. Next next largest hole is new. I used a drill press to create it on the opposite side. It is spaced and centered like the original hole, just on the opposite side. I also purchased a metric #6 tap from Home Depot for about $5 to thread the new hole.Due to very small alignment issues with my new hole, I decided to only insert the metal tube about half way into the bar mount. I then used PTFE tubing to guide the filament. Note that the tubing is cut to perfect length right up to the extruder gears. Start long and shave it down slowly for the perfect fit.The included nut is used to lock the metal tube in place. I also used a little heat-sink compound. For the actual hot-end. It comes with some decently long wires. I cut them down to length. Used the same connector for the termistor and my own connection for the heater. I also wrapped the hole block in insulation secured with kapton tape.I needed to make modifications to the z-axis limit switch because ended up being about 1/4" longer than the original hot-end. But I do have a glass bed that adds about 1/4" and I probably could have put the metal tube in a bit more.So now have a bar mount that accepts the original style hot-end as well as this alternative style. So far I feel this one performs better than the original.
