This took care of the water hammer caused by the rapid opening of the solenoid valves that engage when the washer fills at the beginning of the cycle. The machine runs silently after the installation. Here is my only gripe - the packaging label is very ambiguous. In two places it says lead free and in a third it indicates a low lead content. Since I am not using this on a potable water line I was not too concerned about the ambiguity.
