I don't think it would charge a blanket all at once. It will work on larger black light posters and items. **Q: How large of an area does the beam cover—I am wanting to shine it on a glow in the dark blanket and I want to charge the blanket all at once** A: The lamp "face" is about an inch wide. If the lamp is about foot and a half from a surface, the beam covers a circle about 24". Farther away the beam would cover a larger area, but the strength of the light is a bit less the farther it is from the surface. In theory you could charge a small blanket but it would take longer. **Q: will this light work on fluorescent minerals ?** A: Yes especially well with phosphorescence, also makes any glow in the dark stars/stickers shine much faster and brighter than normal white light when you hold them next to the light. **Q: Has anyone used it for curing nails ? Uv gel / Aprés gel X ?** A: Personally, I have not used it for nails but I have used it when I used UV Gel on things I created so I don't see why it would not work on nails as well. The only thing I would not use it with is UV resin. It heats like you would not believe. And that I did try on my fingernail. Ouch!. White thread on white fabric is very hard to see under normal light. The UV light that comes on the long arm only has a small area that is lit up and cannot be focused without moving the machine head. I bought this to use because it can be pointed in any direction without moving the machine. The light works but it is too small to be comfortable writing. I have to position my paper directly under the light to write, then my hand shadows the light and I can't see what I'm writing. However, for the price I can make it work. The first day I tried it the flexible arm kept drooping and the light would sink down with it. But then a couple of days later I tried using it again and the arm decided to hold up its end.I would LOVE this light if it were twice the size.
