More on this later.Frustrated, I left the battery and vacuum cleaner in the kitchen for a while and took a well deserved break from my struggles.After about 30 minutes, I came back and decided to give the vacuum another try.This time, to my pleasant surprise, it worked, but still the charge indicator light on the adapter would go from green to red while continuing to run.Red means the battery is almost out of power. But I knew my battery pack was fully charged.Then the thought occurred to me, lithium, polymer batteries don’t like being cold.So I took my battery and placed it on one of my heater vents in the house for another 20 minutes or so to let it warm up.Then I plugged it back into the vacuum and voilà, no issues at all!To further put my mind at ease, I googled “Dyson battery cold” and found this on the Dyson website:“Store your vacuum at room temperature.Heat sources, such as radiators, can damage the battery. We recommend that you store your vacuum at temperatures between 18°C–28°C, away from direct sunlight and out of utility closets.Let it cool, but not too much.You can preserve the life of your battery by letting your machine cool down after use – before connecting it back up to the dock to recharge.Your machine won’t operate or charge if the room temperature is below 37°F. This is designed to protect both the motor and battery.”So there you have it. I went from thinking I would leave this a one star review and send the product back to learning something and leaving a five star review.There is nothing wrong with the product, just make sure your batteries aren’t cold.Thanks for coming to my TED talk. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great! *by J*** on October 4, 2024* The original battery was no longer doing the trick and maybe lasted for 20 seconds on high. Easy to switch with only 3 screws. It’s great it came with a new filter so I can always have a fresh one ready after washing the current one. I would assume that some of the issues people mention are because of a clogged dirty filter. I used one of my 10 AH batteries to do all the cleaning I wanted on high without running out of juice.
