This sounds every bit as good to me as my old 500W per channel Carver class A/B amplifier. I can detect no deficiency in the quality of audio produced. It is dead silent in the silent parts of the audio program and has plenty of power for near-field listening. It pairs well with Micca RB42 bookshelf speakers, and some older KLH speakers I have.I was pleasantly surprised that the bundled power adapter has a two-prong non-polarized cord, and thus the amplifier's audio ground is isolated from the electrical service's equipment ground. Other amplifiers I've purchased used a grounded power supply. Connecting a grounded amplifier's analog audio input to a grounded audio source (such as a computer with a grounded power supply) results in ground-loop noise being induced into the audio. Another amplifier I have suffers from this issue when connected to my computer (making it seem like the sound card is noisy or of poor quality), but the OriGain connected to that same computer produces perfectly clean audio with dead silence in the quiet parts.What I really love about this amplifier is its small size, minimalist aesthetics, and low power consumption. The enclosure is solid, attractive, and unobtrusive. The speaker connectors are robust and accept wire up to 14 gauge via screw-down clamping, or larger via banana plugs. Due to the efficiency, it runs only slightly warmer than ambient, and there is no noticeable temperature change even after extended listening at the highest volume levels I find comfortable. Measuring with a watt meter, I found that the amplifier and its bundled power supply consume 3.82 watts when the audio is quiet. The power consumption only goes up a few tenths of a watt when turned up to moderately loud near-field listening levels. To get the power consumption to rise by even one watt, the volume has to be cranked up to the point where it's a bit uncomfortable to sit near the speakers. When the switch on the amplifier is turned off, the bundled 24V 4.75A efficiency level VI power supply consumes 0.33 watt.The build quality appears to be excellent. Since there are no vent holes in the enclosure and it barely generates any heat at all, I expect the lifespan to be excellent, or at least not be limited by dust buildup or heat stress. The manual is written in clear proper English, is of a readable size, and includes useful specs and diagrams. Even the bundled audio cable is of decent quality. Although less-expensive amplifiers based on the TPA3116D2 are available, I have no regrets spending a bit more for the quality of this product and its bundled power supply and cable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Decent amp for the price, solid build. *by H***U on Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2018* This is just a general view after one week of use.I use this amp to power my Sony sscs5, what I can say is that this is a very good amp in the price range.Briefly about the package: the box is sealed and it has big foam inside for shock resistance (as in picture).I choose this amp for 3 main reasons:1. Beautiful design (personal opinion), mini.2. Come with 24v power supply, 4.75 amp. Although there are no measurements, I think the consistence performance of the power supplies is only about 80-90% of its labeled (voltage drop)Generally, the reason I'm concerned about this is because the more the Wattage (or Voltage specifically, since the Ampe is almost around the same for these price range, >4A), the more headroom you have. In other word, it would be louder at the same volume knob position compared to lower voltage one, which makes the output sound better. Just keep in mind that this is not always true, but a general rule.3. It has pre out, and maybe this is the only mini amp in the price range that has pre out (mainly for subwoofer)Note: This pre out is full range (20-20 kHz) so you have to adjust the crossover on your subwoofer. Depending on the setup, the sweet point will be different. However, my personal experience is that about 20Hz range above the minimum rated frequency of the speakers will be a good point. The reason is from that point, the frequency response will start to roll off (Example: Speaker 50-20 kHz => crossover at 70Hz). Therefore, you can reduce the overlap frequency between subwoofer and your speakers, which is the cause of muddy bass.Advantage:There is no humming at all (volume knob at 10 o'clock – 40 cm away from speaker)In terms of sound quality, I will not comment because at this price range, compared to other product from (fosi, smsl, douk, dayton, etc), almost all of them will produce almost the same sound quality at the same voltage input (24V in my case), except from applying DSP or tonal balance. In other words, it worth the money you spent.Disadvantage:There is channel imbalance (to the right) at very low volume, 7-8.5 o'clock (6.5 is off). To imagine how low it is, with desktop setup(near field), the seat is 40 cm away from speakers, I need to adjust the volume knob to 10 o'clock to have decent volume. At this point, the channel imbalance has gone or become not noticeable anymore.It looks like the power supply input is quite loose, it loose a few times during my setup process._____________________________I will update more in the future if it is needed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Small, limited power, impressive for price *by J***H on Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2019* I had a really hard time telling the difference between this little guy and a Marantz PM6006. (Hifiberry dac+ pro, KEF q100s) Maybe that's my limitation, but the fact that it could get close seems remarkable for an $80 amp the size of a half-sandwich. (A Cambridge Topaz AM10, and an Emotiva A100 did not make the cut.) It was very pleasant to listen to (even string quartets and jazz) at reasonable volumes. I remain surprised and impressed.And it won't go above reasonable volumes. 50W? Whatever. The 40W Marantz or an old Rotel 50W power amp blow this away for volume, its not even close. The KEF's at 86dB are not an obvious match; prefer speakers with higher sensitivity.While the head is half-sandwich-sized, the power brick is half-masonry-brick-sized; you'll have to shove that behind some furniture. The head unit gets pretty crowded in back with 4 speaker wires, 4 RCA plugs, and power cable, so this has to sit at the back of the desk. The on/off switch works by the volume past zero; so you can't leave the volume set. The included subwoofer cable looked surprisingly decent quality.
