The Defender is a standard road tread it will have better traction in rain and quite on the highway. It will also get better milage than a A/T up to 1mpg. Both are available in 123 or 125 load ratings, higher rating more money. They come in lower load ratings so make sure you order the right tire cheaper is not just cheaper it's less load. I have just worn out my first set of Defenders at about 45000 they are suppose to be 60000. They are great tires but I feel there tread is too soft, they leave tread pattern marks on concrete. But I can recommend them if your wanting all the positives I've mentioned. I'm going with the LTX this time specifically for pulling out of gravel spots with my 17K 5th wheel although the Defenders were fine for doing so in 4WD. **Q: Are these white raised letter** A: Yes , they have white outlined michelin letters on them as shown in the picture.
