Purchased others and they are too loose and do not fit** A: I don’t believe these are intended to provide support for the arm. I bought them to wear underneath a brace that was made for me by occupational therapist. When I had to find a few more to get me through I decided on these, even though I needed thumb holes. I was easily able to customize these for my own use by cutting them a little shorter, cutting the thumb material off for the holes I needed and, since I was afraid to use too much compression, I made 4 1.5" cuts going from the bottom of my fingers toward the hand (top and palm side). This allowed them to remain tight enough to hold the dressing in place, but not apply compression. btw, when I say "compression" it's nothing like a compression sock or anything, just a smidge too tight when stitches are in and there is bruising on the hand. I would order these again. It is held together with Velcro strips. Originally I wore it with white gauze. At the same time I was cleaning out my family home to sell it. It had been in my family since the mid to late 1800’s. I just needed something to absorb and protect. These worked perfectly! I trimmed the thumb and hand opening back just a bit for a perfect fit. I was even able to run one through the washer (in a delicates bag). These come in a bag of 10. I don't believe they are made to use over and over.
