I use ours in our dining room with one window open and the kitchen range hood fan going: zero problems. I also use real charcoal (hardwood lump) and smoke simply isn't a concern. You can use smokeless, but it's really not required. Never use briquettes, which are usually a mix of coal and binder. **Q: Is this grill for indoor cooking? I have seen restaurants that use commercial vent hoods over the grills, but if you want to grill indoors, you should be looking at an electric unit.
