Badly written scenes. Contrived situations. Unbelievable interactions between characters. Hey, we're on a deserted island and people are dying. Do those who just landed think it may be the weird guy they encounter there or buy his explanation it was ghosts without first seeing them? What do you think they did? Yeah, thought so.Didn't read the first book which may be part of the problem but then after reading this one have no desire to read anymore of this series. For me is LOVE AT 1ST SIGHT with Riple's writing.The main character isn't an invincible "super-heroe", had many "human faults". That make the approach to him more easy. He felt, cry, drank, chain-smoke & live most of his life around ghosts.How could he return, help... Suffering PTSD, Depression. This time loose a love interest and the rest isn't history is a well wtitten book.I can't stop, I been reading them in order and love every second of it.I had all his books. The writing is very simplistic and there are typos. One glaring typo is the use of 'their' instead of correctly using 'they're'. Every character vomits at least once and some characters vomit frequently throughout the story. That's not necessary to the story and it becomes annoying. I found myself speed-reading to finish. I'm going to read the next book in this series because I like the main character and I enjoy ghost stories, however, three strikes and you're out if the next one is as disappointing as this book.
