I needed simple and effective and this little preamp delivers. Great buy for a starting setup. Review: Helped my subwoofer get enough signal to turn it on. - I’m using this in line with my soundbar’s sub output (which had a very weak signal). It worked nicely to boost the audio signal so the sub now works as it should. We use our soundbar for movies, but often just for streaming music too (Bluetooth, Pandora, etc). Unfortunately, the soundbar’s sub output was super weak. Before, my soundbar’s sub output signal was so weak, it often wouldn’t even turn the subwoofer on (it’s an auto-on subwoofer that powers on when it senses an audio signal). And when it worked, the sub signal was so weak, it sounded like there was no subwoofer at all, even when the subwoofer’s volume was all the way up. You had to get right next to it to even know it was doing anything. Putting this in line between my soundbar’s RCA output and my subwoofer’s RCA input boosted the signal perfectly so I can now hear the subwoofer nicely. The volume knob on the subwoofer now will go from relatively quiet to full dance party mode. I had no issues with the “hum” that others have mentioned.
