Why does it say "disposable"; is that just for sanitary reasons? TY.** A: Good afternoon. It is made of a strong nylon fiber. I don't really know what grade. I usually see something similar used on tactical bags. It is flexible. I either store it folded or rolled - not too tightly though on the later - depending on circumstance. On being disposable, I guess on how it is used. I imagine it says so because it is for field use during conflict so it can get pretty soiled up and sanitation becomes a big issue for the wounded. The one I purchased is used more for our safety trainings and for those rare times we have any injuries that necessitates the patient not to move or exert him/herself. I just wash and scrub it well with a brush and bacterial detergent after use. I dry it indoors so that the UV rays won't weather the fabric. Hope that is of some help. The litter comes straight from the manufacturer folded. The dimensions are 12"L X 7" W and it is 2" thick. I was able to fold it in half and it goes into my largest dump pouch, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to remove quickly or how annoyed I'd get with it banging into my side or leg. I noticed that it did fit in a MOLLE hydration bladder pouch on my back though if that is an option. It also fit in a MOLLE gas mask pouch. I'm just trying out different options that you may have available to see what might work for you. When folded in half (lengthwise) and compressed as small as I could make it, it was roughly 7" X 7" and 5" thick. **Q: How small does this pack down?** A: Got mine packed down to about 2 1/2" thick x about 18" long and 5" wide. Approximately... **Q: Can this be used under bedbound patient to attach to scale and hoyer left to weight person.** A: I suppose it could. You would need to provide adjustable straps to attach to the Hoyer.
