Our 20 yr old home has travertine flooring throughout and has seen its fair share of heavy traffic and use during that time. Given travertine’s structure we invariably developed surface defects which I previously repaired with kits containing Mastic and hardener in a defined ratio mix. I never looked forward to that process as it hardened quickly so time was of the essence when attempting several repairs, and despite careful scraping with a putty knife and gentle wiping, it always left a surface residue which later required careful sanding. And I never felt entirely comfortable estimating the correct mixing ratio of the Mastic to hardener. This water-cement based product exceeds my expectations by providing simple mixing of an odorless material, ample working time of roughly 15 minutes so I can patch multiple defects in one batch, and more complete removal of excess material outside of the defect with a quality putty knife and paper towel (dry worked as well as damp for me). I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to share the excellent attributes which this kit brings to the table. You can mix it to achieve almost any beige or brown tone. **Q: Is this UV resistant, for outdoor travertine pavers?** A: Don’t know about UV, but the finish was more like grout and I was disappointed. **Q: is this waterproof for use in a shower?** A: I would think so. I have used on my floors multiple times and seems to hold up. However, it doesn't get water on it daily. It's inexpensive and it works:) **Q: Can this be used out door?** A: Yes, I used it to repair “cantera rock” and it looks like nothing happened before. I have several hundred square feet of travertine one my house, and I can’t imagine ever using all of this package - there’s a ton in there. Also like that there are two colors (dark and light) in the box.
