If you don't need the RF buy the RM4 mini, it works fine. This thing is useless as it will not stay connected to the network for more than a few minutes. Spent an entire day trying to get the thing to work with my Netgear RAX120 router with the same result: Re-installing the apps not ever sure I was using the correct one. I could get the thing working with my tv and a/c; however, after only a few minutes it would go off line. In frustration I decided to try the RM4 mini I bought at the same time; it worked with Broadlink app first time no problems. I do wish it would connect to the Alexa without the app; I do not like devices that require a internet connection to work. They have major issues with reliability and security. In my attempt deal with this issue I contacted BroadLink's support; Of course they assumed I was an idiot but finally convinced them the Pro+ was defective. They then told me I would need to contact the seller, so I did; the seller told me I would I would need to talk to Amazon. How much time do I need to spent trying to get this settled. I have seen this before; every one points the finger at some one else; leaving me in the middle. "I AM DONE WITH THIS", the service really sucks. I need to find some thing else that works.Amazon replaced the device and it now works perfectly; Thank you Amazon! One thing I found out while trouble shooting Issues with the original unit: The Pro+ does not like some wifi security options. I found the Pro+ likes WPA2-Personal [AES] on my Netgear RAX120 router. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars What you need to know if you want to use it with alexa *by M***H on Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2018* I got this to control some IR/FR devices via alexa like a projector, projector screen, LEDs, but as someone else mentions in the reviews, alexa only will discover tv remotes. So you have to trick alexa by setting a remote to every device as a tv remote. WELL... it happens that alexa also discover scenes! With that being said. I didn't trick alexa by using tv remote for all my devices, instead I create scenes and works perfectly!If you're not sure how to do it here's an example of what I did. My projector is controlled via IR and has two different buttons for ON and OFF. When I need to turn it off the OFF button must be pressed twice so, I create a universal remote on the IHC app, ON and OFF buttons were programmed, then I created 2 scenes in the same app one called "projector on" where contains one press of the ON button from the projector remote. And a second scene called "projector off" which contains two presses of the button off of the projector with a gap of 3 seconds in between. Now with these two scenes created you go to your alexa app and discover your scenes, both will show up so you just need to create an alexa routine where you say for example "alexa turn on movie mode" and in my case I add the "projector on" scene and add my smart bulbs to turn them all off. Works as I wanted to work. Then you keep doing the same for all devices, create a scene for every press of universal remotes and bring these button presses to alexa a scene and include them on routines. Hope this helps.Update Nov 04: connection between alexa and ibroadlink is broken. Alexa is accepting voice commands related to the RM pro , but the RM Pro is not executing them. If you control them thought the IHC app the RM pro will execute then successfully. only vida alexa is not working right now. Will keep you posted. Please fix! UPDATE: WORKS AGAIN! I was gonna wait for this to come to swap it out, but they sent me an RM Pro +! Very pleasant surprise as I thought I had gotten the older/lower model. Shipping was extremely fast (came a week sooner than expected). I had issue after issue setting the Rm Pro + up, but after two hours of trial and error managed to get it running flawlessly! From what I can tell, the interface isn’t very user friendly. If something goes wrong during setup, don’t quit and return it, reset it and TRY AGAIN. Fixed almost all my issues this way!
