All that happened was my wife placed it on the counter. It wasn't dropped. I feel that means the glass is under tension which makes it so fragile IDK what to tell you. But even worse is that the suction seal was not tight enough so it leaks easily under no load - it's not effective. Avoid, total waste of money and even before it broke it wasn't effective at sucking up liquid.
