Wago 222 connectors are all common connection - it is a single buss style - like a wire nut. This is 3 separate parallel connections. So you can connect Hot, Neutral & Ground all through a single connector. Less space, cleaner connection. FYI: The ones I have are marked with CE but not UL - if that matters for your application. AND I have personally reached out to Wago to ask them to make a similar connector in their new 221 design. **Q: are these UL listed?** A: They are not UL-listed and they've been trying for two years, so I would probably not be using this for anything for voltages higher than 32-48V. **Q: Does this need to be placed in a junction box?** A: Yes these do. There are a type that does not need to be in a junction box for AC but it has to be able to protect from the jacket/sheath over all wires and this does not meet that criteria. So for AC only usable in junction boxes.
