I had an open pull up resistor, R24 10kΩ, that caused the input to float when the rotary encoder, SW6, happened to be in the open state . My DSO Model 150 pulls the voltage down on a 9V alkaline battery from 9.37V to 8.66V when it should have been about 9.3V. You might try a 9V battery and see how much it pulls down the voltage. From the discharge curves at various loads on a 9V alkaline battery, I would say that the DSO should require <0.05A. **Q: is ok for car testing** A: I am not sure what your asking? I wouldn't use it to test engine timing or anything around it since its a 12v system. This oscilloscope can only handle 3 - 5 volts. You would need to get probes that can handle higher voltages. **Q: Will this measure AC line voltage such as a generator output?** A: Sure, but you would need a 1x/10x probe . WARNING: AC line testing can be dangerous! Only proceed if you have experience and/or training.
