Roll out the tape evenly across any joins or cracks in the pavement, the bitumen tape is quite flexible and will bend and follow any cracks, press down to stick the tape to the pavement. 2. Peel off the "backing tape" this is the separation layer of plastic film that prevents the roll sticking together.3. Apply the flame from your blow torch evenly back and forth along the strip slowly melting the tape , this will then form a "welded" seam along the crack and will fill the crack with liquid bitumen. As soon as you remove the torch the bitumen immediately solidifies, so it won't flow down hill, but will just repair the area that it has been applied to. ( this product is often used on sloping roof repairs and will join only the area where heat is actually being applied)4. When you apply the heat, wave the torch back and forth as if spray painting a car, this will help the bitumen tape to melt evenly leaving a clean even join.You'll love the results, and I can guarantee you'll enjoy achieving the perfect pavement fix !! **Q: Can this application be used on an asphalt tennis court for cracks?** A: Yes. This product is very easy to use. It does not come with instructions, so am sharing my experience... It is very sticky and will adhere well to a clean asphalt driveway. It needs heat to make the bond permanent, but do not overheat, as it will melt as expose the crack, requiring a second application. I only ordered one package as I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but am ordering more today. The rope version that is on amazon is better. This product softens in the summer heat. It becomes soft and can pull up from tires driving on it. The rope version is soft after applying it but will harden and not pull up. At least it hasn't in 100 degree heat that I've had. This cost more money and is far less reliable than the rope kind.
