Check the bottom of your brand of tube feeder. If the feeder has a threaded insert, it is likely this tray will fit. If it isn't a perfect fit, your local hardware will be of help in matching up a new bolt. **Q: What is the diameter of the hole in the middle? Rather than catch seed, I'd like to use it to deter jumping cats.** A: Hello Corrie,I would not recommend this as a baffle for cats. The diameter is not large enough to make a difference and the slope isn't very steep to slide the cat off. At what height is your feeder? Is it mounted on a ground pole, or hanging on a deck mount? A cat in good condition is able to leap about five feet straight up. Try a large diameter garbage can lid or a Christmas Tree tray as a baffle. Drill a hole in the center and slip it onto your pole. Secure it at the height you want with pipe strapping below the lid/tray. Make the hole a bit large so the tray wobbles in wind. Cats and Raccoons dislike anything that wobbles when they climb or jump as they feel very insecure. I use wobbling stovepipe baffles on all my nest boxes and have never had a Raccoon raid a nest. Another way to discourage roaming cats is to place chicken wire on supports on the ground below your feeders. You can use cheap tent stakes or landscape fabric clips as supports. Zip tie the chicken wire to the supports about 6 inches high off the ground. It is unsightly, and you will have to move this to mow. However, it will discourage the cats and the birds don't mind the wire. Cats will not walk on raised chicken wire. Be sure to encompass the area around your feeder to be effective. Some people have good luck with the Scarecrow style water squirters. The unit is attached to your hose, you leave the water on, the unit senses movement and squirts a jet of water. I often just put up 48" high fencing in the area surrounding my feeders in winter. This keeps out cats, but also the bunnies which we enjoy watching. But at least the birds are safer. It is a shame so many people allow their cats to create havoc among wildlife and inflict their loose pets on other homeowners. I hope this helps. **Q: would this work with the whippet bird feeder?** A: I have no idea, I've never heard of that type of feeder you mention. I got these for my feeders made by Wild Birds Inc. but had to return them.
