One side is yellow, the other silver. It's nice having Duel colors, sometimes the lighting works better with one over the other. It's sturdy, well built and not sloppy when extended. Package should be heavily taped at the ends, my first one arrived open and the spirit level was missing, so I sent it back for replacement. Second one arrived in tact, but barely.
