Review: Love, love, love - These are awesome! Love the material. Only complaint is that they are a bit flimsy on the bottom, so I glued a small piece of poster board on the bottom to make more sturdy. Other than that, I love them!

I used triangular trays to keep the beads sorted on the mat, but the trays tip easily if accidentally knocked. These mats solve the tippy tray problem with the areas to keep beads corralled. I bought the set of three since I often have more than one project going at a time, and the larger mats also have the ruler marks so you can measure your project. Love these.

**Q: Its says sponge but also says flocking..which is it? Im looking for soft flocking**
A: Its made of sponge but with a flocked design, if that makes sense. I will be truthful regarding the design of this product. Its flemsey, the grids are not deep enough at all. It needs to go back to design team and revamp this item. However I did see a new product with amazon .....wait for it.......a beading mat with grids and a LID!!! been waiting for something like this, It shows a video of the mat with closed lids and beads in it .being tossed around and the beads stay in place!! holy cow batman. Might want to go look for that before making a decision.

**Q: How deep are the 24 bead compartments?**
A: The thickness of felt. It is just a heavy felt glued to foam. I attached it ti 12 x12 canvas frames and they work perfect for working on your lap. Beads don't roll off the foam and the felt is thick enough to stop them if they do

I've long used bead mats to keep beads from disappearing when they're dropped - just work over the mat and they do not roll away. I used triangular trays to keep the beads sorted on the mat, but the trays tip easily if accidentally knocked. These mats solve the tippy tray problem with the areas to keep beads corralled. I bought the set of three since I often have more than one project going at a time, and the larger mats also have the ruler marks so you can measure your project. Love these.
