Please read the review - I am using this to paint a small room. This does what it says but consider below comments: 1. It really keeps area clean and less messy. 2. It is heavy over time and was ok (for me) on walls, but for ceiling it's a challenge, I am not short and not very strong. My challange for ceiling is its heavy weight and it may need to have a bit longer arm to paint comfortable. It really needs strength over time, so if a person needs to buy he or she should understand this point specifically if it's not one or two walls. 3. Its cleaning is straight forward but time consuming and that's life you cannot get everything all the time. To me, I would probably rather use normal roller and use more sheets to protect floor, rather than cleaning at the end if the day. Knowing what I know after buying this, I would probably opt for normal roller, but it is a good item. I'll give 4 stars for the efforts done. I had no issues, no spillage, no paint falling or whatsoever when I used but noticed some reviewers said so. Review: It is a bad product and not worth for money. Worst part is I requested for a return and the seller has not contacted me for 2 months. Whenever I call them, they say i would get a mail from seller and desertcart cannot do anything. I don't understand their logic. Wallpaper paste is too thick for the small holes in the roller. **Q: Can you use oil based paints with this? I'm specifically using a mixture of 50% linseed oil and 50% pine tar** A: Oil based paints are fine in the Smart SideKick. We don't have any idea how pine tar will affect it, but it sounds like trouble. Clean immediately after use with mineral spirits. Good luck with your projects. Just be sure it's for "power" roller and specify desired nap length. **Q: Will this work well on an acoustic blown on ceiling?** A: The blown ceiling material can start walling off when it gets wet with spraying. Using a roller is going to make a mess, had a friend try that. It ended up as having to remove all the blown ceiling. Blown ceiling has a terrible bonding capability if wet at all. I have had some ceilings done in a commercial building and the painter used a fogging type sprayer with 2-3 coats, drying in between coats.
