I had a Conair for about 1 1/2 years which had a ceramic plate and it was ok. I found this Brazillian termouline flat iron online and liked how it looked and the fact that it heated up quickly. I bought it and have been extremely happy. I had shoulder length hair but recently cut it shorter and the flat iron worked well for both hair lengths. I have thick, wavy hair but set the iron to 350 degrees and it straightens quickly and evenly. I have had several different upper end straighteners/flat-irons, Paying almost $200 dollars for some of them. This by far topped even those. I have thin, but very curly hair. I can comfortably wear it curly, but it's so much easier when it is straight. With one of my old irons, it would take me almost 45 minutes to straighten my hair. Now, with the Brazilian HEAT by MEGA HOT, It takes me about, I don't know, 10-15 minutes. Depending on how straight I want it. I have never been able to wake up before work 45 minutes before I have to leave, and be completely ready. It's wonderful. Not to mention, the comb head snap-on piece helps run the straightener straight through my hair, and make it so silky and soft. I also can't help but comment on the wonderful floating plates, that, by the way, move up and down depending on the amount of pressure put on them. It's wonderful. I love the temperature lock, that allows you to keep it at the same temperature without accidentally pressing it. I love it.
