The question is what is required prep-work, if fillers are needed for a smooth surface first, sealers to soak into bare porous wood, fiberglass tape across wood seams to prevent plank movement and paint cracking, etc. It is a thick mixture which probably won't soak into the wood very far by itself though. AND STICKY! And a great primer!I buried my 1966 fiberglass hull in 4 coats of this stuff and 4 coats of Cukote below the scum and water line. This stuff forms up a very nice hard plastic shell that should protect my keel for YEARS! Hopefully, in about 4 or 5 years when I haul out again, all I will have to do is scrub the bottom, inspect for flaws and wear and just add a few new coated of bottom paint.
