## Overview

ADA Aqua Soil New Amazonia is a premium 9-liter substrate crafted from rare Japanese plant-based black soil. It enriches aquatic environments with essential nutrients, balances pH levels, and promotes robust root development, making it the ideal choice for advanced aquarists aiming for a vibrant, fully planted aquarium.

## Description

Designed to reproduce the image of desertcart, creates an aquascape depicting the fertile South American rainforest with the dynamic alternation of rainy and dry seasons. A high pH level (alkaline) of the substrate causes difficulties for aquatic plants in consuming nutrients. The Aqua Soil Series decreases the hardness of the water and lowers the PH level to the degree at which most aquatic plants can consume nutrients and comfortably grow. Aqua Soil granules maintain their shape and density for long periods underwater securing good circulation of water and oxygen through the substrate. With Aqua Soil, growing difficult plants such as Tonina sp. becomes easier, and it is ideal for fish demanding soft water. (This product is recommended for advanced hobbyists, for beginners, we recommend Aqua Soil desertcartia Light)

Review: Plants love it. No longer need root tabs! - There is an issue with this soil leaching ammonia and clouding the water for a few days to weeks, but that isn't a problem if you are doing a fish less cycle. I think this would work well in place of ammonia to cycle a tank. My tank was already cycled, and it caused nitrates to skyrocket. Testing the water more frequently & performing water changes will prevent any harm to fish. Plants are healthy and vibrant in color. I plan on purchasing again and would recommend to anyone looking to keep a planted tank.
Review: Quality Product, Incredible Customer Service. - This product is great. I had issues with my product and the seller resolved it as quickly as possible. I’m thoroughly impressed and happy with this seller and my purchase. ADA Aquasoil is a fantastic planted substrate. I’ve tried it with two low tech tanks where the substrate is capped with some pool filter sand, a 5g and 29g(before and after images provided), and the plants flourished.

## Features

- Completely new substrate made from rare and sparse source of Japanese plant-based black soil derived from decomposed leaf mulch
- Rich in organic elements and nutrients that creates conditions ideal for healthy growth of aquatic plants and has a good influence on the physiological functions of fish and shrimp
- Helps to bring the pH level and hardness of the water down to an ideal level for most of the aquatic plants
- Composed of granules of size and density ideal for the fast development of healthy plant root systems. Granules have a natural irregular shape that produces a natural look
- Contains high levels of natural humic acid that may or may not cause some initial water cloudiness depending on your local water chemistry. Water cloudiness will go away with proper maintenance and water changes. Therefore, this product is recommended for advanced hobbyist seeking to make a fully planted aquarium

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can this soil be vacuumed? like gravel is vacuumed? If not, how do you clean it?**
A: Yes, this soil can be vaccumed. However, when you vacuum, do not insert the vaccum cone too deep into the soil. When the vaccum cone is inserted too deep, it could siphon out the soil. One tip to prevent soil pallets from getting siphon out is to put your thumb on the other end of your siphon hose and stop the water flow immediately if you see the soil is coming up, wait till the soil falls back down again then you can release your thumb to let the siphon start again.

**Q: Would it be ok to rinse the Amazonia before adding to my tank,,like i have done with Seachem Flourite and other substrates?,it should be here in a few**
A: It is better to wash them first before putting in your tank, if you tank already have fish and live stock. Put little amount at the time since your liveed stocked do not like water quality change in ph and amoniac

**Q: The description says "normal and powder type available." Does this mean I would just specify the type in the order?**
A: Hi Steve, unfortunately, powder type is not available on Amazon

**Q: Is this suitable with guppies/ mollies/ swordtail? (Planning to also have red cherry shrimp in there)**
A: I recently bought this product and is using it to grow plants in a smaller aquarium(20 Gallons) which has Guppies, Tertras and Barbs. So the answer to the question is yes. However I want to emphasis the fact that, this is special natural soil in granular form, which promotes excellent root growth for aquatic plants and may not be anyway needed for an aquarium that do not have live plants. So this is one great product if you love to aquascape your aquarium and have live plants and I wouldn't get this if I am not planning to have live plants.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stop buying cheaper products and just buy this and never look back.

Plants have never looked better. Best substate ever used. I have gone from capped soil, olive knott aqua soil, up aqua. I've tried a bunch. Nothing compared to ada amazonia. I was hesitant to spend the money on it for a very long time. I regret that. I can grow anything in this substate and see noticable differences from when I had them growing in another substate. I've seen new color and growth in all plants since using this. Stop buying cheap stuff and hoping for the best. I spent 2 years or so avoiding buying this because of price. You will not be upset. You will see faster growth, faster spread of carpet plants and richer color.
