If not, how do you clean it?** A: Yes, this soil can be vaccumed. However, when you vacuum, do not insert the vaccum cone too deep into the soil. When the vaccum cone is inserted too deep, it could siphon out the soil. However I want to emphasis the fact that, this is special natural soil in granular form, which promotes excellent root growth for aquatic plants and may not be anyway needed for an aquarium that do not have live plants. Best substate ever used. I have gone from capped soil, olive knott aqua soil, up aqua. I've tried a bunch. Nothing compared to ada amazonia. I was hesitant to spend the money on it for a very long time. I regret that. I can grow anything in this substate and see noticable differences from when I had them growing in another substate. I've seen new color and growth in all plants since using this. Stop buying cheap stuff and hoping for the best. I spent 2 years or so avoiding buying this because of price. You will not be upset.
