I bought an Acer laptop from costco last year, and it is great but it doesn't have a dvd driver. I've been lookng around to get one and decided to try this. It was a good price and I"m really happy with the product! It is a nice slim design, and I love that there is a spot for the cord to be stored on the bottom of the device. Using it is super simple- plug it in and that's it! Love that cord hides neatly underneath. Happy with purchase.Husband tried out DVD-RW with desktop and noted that while short cord is nice for connecting to lap top, it is too short to connect to desktop without an additional cord. Husband also began to have problems where the door to disk drive did not want to close and would take a few times before it stayed shut. You need to make sure to attach the cd to its central hub securely or it will make noises as it spins up. Overall a great product so far.
