I followed the instructions to arrange the leaves in the Japanese fashion. I've worked on it and worked on it, and it still looks fake. From afar, it looks okay, so I'll keep it. Up close, it is displeasing. I wish I'd bought a less expensive more traditional faux plant. I ordered a white pot and stand separately. I hope that makes it look a little better. It was easy to put together - the tree is cut in half for ease of shipping.
