This attachment is 100x better than my weed whip edging attachment. Great product that is super a simple design and works. It's very quick to change from tiller to edger attachment. Feels like the mantis offers way more power than needed to run the edger attachment which means it NEVER bogs down even on sidewalks that have been neglected for a year or two. Highly recommend! For those who have never used a tiller be mindful that when the tines hit rocks or hard surfaces they "run" over them, thus forcing you to pull back on the handles with a good deal of force. All tillers do this, and once in a while rocks get caught between the tines and jam them. Of course this happened with the Mantis but this little machine is a beast turning hard clay clumpy soil into small workable particles of dirt. Pulling it backwards works just as well as going forwards though you do need to be careful or you will dig down too deeply or send soil over the sides of the bed. I had no problem with the off button being on the handlebar. The kickstand works well, and the carry handle is conveniently placed for easy pick ups. Less then 1/2"** A: Yes it can. And another tip: If you want to edge deeply (to 3 or 4 inches), place the wheel on the left axle and the edger blade on the right axle. If you want to edge shallow (to 1 or 2 inches), place the wheel on the right axle and the edger blade on the left axle. **Q: Are the steel cutting blades replaceable or do you need to buy an entire new attachment?** A: The blades of the Border Edger Attachment are backed by the Mantis lifetime tine warranty and yes they are replaceable. **Q: Can this be used as an edger between the sidewalk and grass, or will the cement from the sidewalk ruin the tines?** A: I actually bought this for using it along the edge of the sidewalk and in other areas where my flower beds meet up with grass. It does not work well with the sidewalk as the tines hit the side walk (hard to control) and leave a wider gap between the sidewalk and grass than I like. And it grabs my landscape fabric that's under my mulch when trying to use it around my beds that meet up with the grass. It works real well around my veggie garden that is surround by grass where there are not sidewalk and no landscape fabric. **Q: Do you know how wide the rubber tire is and the hole in the center that mounts on the Mantis?** A: The tire is 1 3/8" wide . If you have to buy an edger with a metal blade or used a manual edger you will obviously see the value. I find that it works best going backwards or dragging it instead of holding it back or pushing. Simple easy off and on tool less change from the tilling blades.
