Even my 19 and 23 year old sons (at the time of viewing) like it. -My wife less so, but then; she isn't really keen on screwball comedies. Although at times "Bringing up Baby" had her in stitches. "Arsenic and Old Lace" is one of the better screwball comedies and with Peter Lorre & Boris Karloff in supporting roles it really is a bit of a gem. So I'll have my usual moan over the lack of a UK release for this very funny film. Especially since it has been released by the Criterion Collection and therefore looks and sounds fantastic. Could they not have stretched to a UK release also; -after all Archie Leach was born in Bristol. Review: One of the best comedies ever made - This must be one of the most hilarious films ever made. A very gripping plot with a lot of suspense and a black comedy at the same time. This is probably Carry Grant's best performance on film. The rest of the cast is also outstanding and a joy to watch. The Criterion Collection BluRay has been given an excellent transfer with a high definition black and white picture, an immense improvement on the old DVD of the same film. The disc comes with a nice illustrated booklet. Highly recommended. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 938 Reviews | | Language | English | | Number of discs | 1 | | UPC | 715515277716 | ## Product Details - **Genre:** Comedy, Mystery & Suspense - **Format:** Blu-ray - **Contributor:** Alberta Gary, Cary Grant, Charles Lane, Chester Clute, Don Phillips, Edward Everett Horton, Edward McNamara, Edward McWade, Frank Capra, Garry Owen, Grant Mitchell, Hank Mann, Herbert Gunn, Howard Lindsay, Jack Carson, James Gleason, Jean Adair, John Alexander, John Ridgely, Josephine Hull, Juanita Stark, Lee Phelps, Leo White, Mary Brodel, Peter Lorre, Priscilla Lane, Raymond Massey, Roland Jones, Russel Crouse, Spencer Charters, Vaughan Glaser, Vera Lewis - **Language:** English - **Number Of Discs:** 1 ## Images ![Arsenic and Old Lace (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray] [Region B] - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81pq-pp1zeL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cary Grant at his double-take best. *by A***R on 18 March 2024* This was one of my Dad's favourite films, and one of mine too. As are all criterion bluray. Luckily, I have a multiregion bluray player for such eventualities. Picture Quality is stunning. The film itself is as funny as they get. There's no darker comedy ever been made. The film has me guffawing time after time. It's worth buying a multiregion bluray player just for this film. ## Frequently Bought Together - Arsenic and Old Lace (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray] - Bringing Up Baby (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray] - The Philadelphia Story (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray] --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/457336025-arsenic-and-old-lace-the-criterion-collection-blu-ray-region](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/457336025-arsenic-and-old-lace-the-criterion-collection-blu-ray-region) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-11-07*
