That's mostly due to price and the idea of the thing. I mean, for 20 bucks, why not? But putting this on your helmet is a royal pain. I think I did about as decent a job as possible. I agree with another reviewer. The wires from the end of the tapes to the first joints are too long. If I knew how to cut and solder wires, I would. And I look forward to a model of this that is rechargeable. It's going to be a pain too to carry the battery pack around, although the length of the wire from the second joints to it is plenty lengthy, as it absolutely needs to be.
