I got it to record short ideas in the car so I could use it without looking. It pretty much worked. Once in a while I would get out of sync and would look at it to see what I had done wrong. I was not in the car when I played it back so I looked then. It probably could be done without looking also. I had two. They had a rather short lifetime so I no longer have one to try it out. **Q: How long can you record at one time???** A: I don't have the device anymore but if I remember right you can get an easy 2 hours on it.
