Over ten years ago, I purchased a beautiful Claude Monet print large stick umbrella (chrysanthemums). At the time, I was just trying to thwart my bad habit of leaving umbrellas behind. This thing was beautiful and conspicuous. It was also wide enough to keep me and my laptop bag dry on a one mile walk in the rain, and tall enough to hold over myself and my much taller husband. It withstood many wild thunderstorms and blizzards for over a decade. I had not considered what a marvel this umbrella was before last spring, when at last one of the metal parts cracked in a gust of wind so strong that it nearly carried me off the sidewalk. Replacements gave poor cover, leaving my legs and bags drenched, and flipped inside out at the meekest of winds. And so, I went hunting for a new Galleria umbrella. The Van Goghs were also tempting, but I stuck with Monet. The construction has changed a little bit since 2004, but overall this one looks and feels just as sturdy, functional, and gloomy-day-brightening. I hope it lasts as long as the first! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love this umbrella *by A***A on Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2016* So, I love this umbrella. And since it hasn't rained much here, I have only used it a few times. The other day it was raining, I opened the umbrella and one of the plastic tips that is attached to the material and secured to the metal frame of the umbrella broke off. The umbrella survived a whole 5 uses. It has always been hung up when not being used. I do not see any way of fixing this, so now my expensive umbrella is useless. I'm very disappointed.EDIT: I originally gave this umbrella 2 stars due to the nub breaking. I contacted the company and they've sent extra nubs to be replaced. I do know how to sew and it was a very easy fix and I've used the umbrella several times this year and it's been fine, so far! I do love this umbrella and now give it the full 5 stars, not just for the love of the umbrella, but for the great customer service. Thank you! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SHAFT BROKE AFTER THE 3RD TIME I OPENED IT!!! *by W***2 on Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2018* I first gave this product a "1-star" due to the following explanation. The 3rd time I opened up the umbrella the shaft slowly broke apart where the shaft goes into the handle that was still covered in plastic. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I own another umbrella like this one (van Gogh) that I bought at a store called The Museum Store about 20 years ago....it still is working and in good shape.I NOW GIVE THIS PRODUCT A "5-STAR"...not for the product (I haven't used it enough to see if it will not break again), but for Galleria Enterprises Inc. that stood by it's product even though it was past the warranty period. They shipped me a replacement within a week! With them doing that I can recommend any of their products because they will stand by them.
